Two or more shell and/or slab type walls, the inner one being directly connected to interior components on an inside support, are incorporated in a closed protective sheath round a load bearing structure of reinforced and/or prestressed concrete, esp. suitable for a nuclear installation. The internal and/or external wall is a load bearing structure made of steel fibre concrete. One or both of these walls may be prestresssed, and the space between them may be held under high pressure. They may have separate foundations, and a liner permitting increased fluid density. Protection from tissue formation is enhanced, and walls can be less thick.
