The fastener is intended for coaxial cables and provides connection of the outer conductor with a high frequency appliance such as a communal aerial for television receivers or cable TV systems. A metal wall of the apparatus has an inserting aperture for the coaxial cable, while inside the apparatus is provided a ribbed retainer with a shell, having holes for securing screws. The shell (11,12,14,15) is a one-piece sheet metal member of thickness such that it yields resiliently under pressure of the cable (19) outer conductor. It is shaped such that at least in one longitudinal edge of its arcuated section are provided strip-shaped protrusions. The latter are bent adjacent the shell long edge, away from the coaxial cable. Preferably the bending forms an angle of 60 degrees with the axial direction of the coaxial cable.
