Beams running parallel to each other along the gallery are pressed against the rock, via rock anchors, and also if appropriate, support elements can be introduced later. They are used in a support-system for intercepting roof layers and securing the gallery edge, in mining. The beams are in the form of anchored lattice girders, serving both as preliminary support and as advance work rails. They combine with pile wall profile units, overlapping in the peripheral area, with backfillings, to provide a final support system. Rock anchors may press through both chords of the girders, and can also fix the transverse pile wall profile units in position.
