Engine fuel mixture supply system - admits fuel from float chamber into pumped carrier air via jet controlled by intake air flow sensor

The fuel supply system is intended for an i.c. engine running on fuel mixture. It comprises an air flow sensor (2) which is arranged upstream of a throttle (6) in the air intake (1) and is operated against a spring (5) by the differential pressure across it so as to vary the flow area through a fuel jet (8). The fuel is carried along by an air flow produced by a pump (26). A float chamber (11) contains a tube (10) extending from below the fuel level to the jet, which is arranged in the carrier air duct (9) leading to the cylinder inlet. The chamber (11) connects to the pressure side of the pump (26).
