The trolley wire system has short spacing of support points, and a low system height. Thus it is particularly suitable for mounting in tunnels. The tensioned trolley wire is suspended from an additionally tensioned suspension rope (1) via V-shaped suspenders (3). The latter are of identical length. In order to attain different spacing between the suspension rope and the trolley wire (2), the angle (alpha) between the suspender shanks is adjustable by shifting the clamps (8,9) for the suspender on the suspension rope. Preferably the hanger ends are rotatably connected each to the clamps via brackets (11) during adjustment of the trolley wire height. The suspender may pass through an aperture in a slider, coupled to the trolley wire via its clamp (16).
