Effluent aeration system - recycles purified side:stream mixed with compressed air into aerator of activated sludge tank

In an aeration system for effluents, esp. in an activated biological sewage sludge treatment tank, the injected medium is a side stream of purified effluent, mixed with air as the disperse phase in such a ratio that the air saturation limit is reached in the effluent. Both components are processed under pressure to form a colloidal disperse system. This mixture is then introduced in the aerator under pressure. This utilises the max. percentage of the injected oxygen in the air and maintains an adequate kinetic energy for the biological purification with the best possible economy of energy.
