The toothbrush design is intended to provide simultaneously a cleaning effect for the entire surface of the teeth, as well as for the gum parts. It has several brushes (4), driven by an electric motor, fitted on the free front ends of brush axes (2). The latter protrude from the motor retaining housing (1) which serves simultaneously as the hand grip for the brush tools. The brushes are of polygonal shape and cross section in relation to the rotary brush axis. The polygon corners are connected by convex curves. Preferably a two-corner section is used. A triangular section, however, may be used. In any case all the brushes are of the same polygonal shape. The brush axes are typically at such distance that the surfaces swept by the polygonal brushes partly intersect during rotation, the brush axes being yieldable and flexible.
