Ring concentrator used as refractor objective - has large aperture and focuses parallel light on common point at back intersection on axis

The ring concentrator, consists of concentrically mounted paraboloid sections to be used as refractor objective with a large aperture and high lighting intensity. The refractor objective is mounted in a telescope. The ring concentrator is made from highly reflective thin sheets with optimum surface quality. It is fitted to the inner surface of the support ring in the shape of a truncated cone with extremely high precision. Parallel light beams are focussed in a common focal point at the back of the very light and very rigid ring concentrator. The diameter is of the order of 60m. The light beams intersect at a point on the axis to produce the correct display of a distant body.
