Insulating mass or panel for construction use - made from mixt. of concrete and bituminous mass, esp. for protecting buildings against damage by moisture

The mass contains by wt. 4-4.5 pts. fine building sand; 2-2.5 pts. of hydraulic binder, e.g. cement EPZ 35F; 1.5 pts. water; and 2 pts. of a bituminous mass contg. a solvent. This mass is used directly; or is applied as a layer on a carrier panel to make an insulating panel which is then used in buildings etc. A pref. panel has a low wt. obtd. by using a carrier plate made of wood- wool or -shavings, and covered with a layer 4-5 cm thick of the above insulating mass, which is allowed to set. The invention provides much greater protection against the penetration of moisture than conventional materials, and is particularly useful in the cellars of houses etc. for lining the cellar walls to preclude the entry of moisture. The panels also provide thermal- and sound- insulation.
