The graphic display shows analogue measurement parameter values in the form of a bar chart whose bar lengths corresp. to parameter amplitudes. It provides a reliable indication of measurement values using a single colour display. The display bars (10,11) are subjected to directional changes when their corresp. measurement parameters exceed defined threshold values. The variations in direction of the bars are dependent on variable parameters. Each bar may have an associated display field (13,14) in which the value of the parameter which it represents is displayed numerically. The alarm value of display for excessive values is increased if a bar changes when a permissible limit is exceeded so as to draw attention to the parameter concerned.
