Each arm (1) of the drawbar is hinged between a pair of coaxial sleeves (7) secured to the trailer front axle mounting (3), with a stepped, hollow shaft (10) rigidly secured to the end of each arm and located between the sleeves. A short packing sleeve (9) of elastic material is packed between each end of the shaft and the sleeve, and secured by outer pressure plates (13). A securing bolt passes through the hollow shaft and the pressure plates have raised rings (15) on their undersides to sit between the sleeves and the shaft, to press directly on the edge of the elastic packing. The other end of the packing is secured by pressure rings (12) located on the stepped profile (11) of the shaft.
