The heat-recovery equipment is for a boiler used for domestic or industrial purposes, and comprises a pipe coil wound round the flue. The surface (14) of the pipe in the coil (10) bearing against the outside of the flue pipe (6) is flat. In cross-section, this pipe can be horseshoe-shaped, with a flat contact surface bearing closely against the flue pipe, or alternatively it can be of rectangular section. The design gives the max. rate of heat transfer between the gases in the flue and the water flowing through the pipe coil.
