The pneumatically operated spray gun for applying a lime solution to surfaces has a barrel (17) connected by a supply line (18) to an open container (10) filled with the solution. Another line (16) connects the barrel to a pneumatic motor (14) supplying compressed air. Inside the container is a liquid pump (11) connected to the inlet end of the first supply line and also a stirring device (12). The pneumatic motor has a vertical rotating shaft (13) projecting vertically downwards into the solution, forming the driving shaft for the submerged pump. The stirring device is mounted on this shaft. The air line from the motor to the barrel of the gun includes a control valve (17a).
