Foundry moulding machine for mfg. boxless sand moulds - with simultaneous compaction of two moulds using two pairs of patterns on press, which is also used to eject moulds from moulding boxes

Two moulding boxes with a vertical joint line can be moved along a horizontal track. A vertical pattern plate with a pattern on both surfaces can be driven by a work cylinder into the gap between the two boxes. A vertical press table located on a swivel arm and fitted with a third pattern is located at one end of the two boxes while a press ram carrying a fourth pattern is used to compact the sand in both boxes. The press table is then swivelled out of the track and the pattern plate is retracted. The press ram can then be used to press the two moulds simultaneously out of both boxes, to make a stack of boxless moulds with vertical joint lines. A swivel table can pref. be used to swing pairs of moulds through 90 deg. when horizontal joint lines are required. Moulds with vertical or horizontal joint lines can be made at high speeds.
