This ultra violet lamp is compact and has a pleasing appearance. It is designed for general cosmetic application. The lamp is enclosed in a cylindrical casing, forming a pillar with a window in the upper half and cooling vents at top and bottom. The casing also acts as reflector. The cylindrical casing (5) has a rectangular window (2) through which ultraviolet rays are emitted by a tube (4). Vents (6,6') provide cooling and a switch (11) controls the supply.
