The electromagnetic bell actuator is designed to ensure that a ringing sound will be generated even if the main striker is prevented from operation. The main striker (4) is formed on the end of an arm (3) that is controlled by an electromagnetic actuator with coils (1) and pole pieces (5,6). The striker arm has a main cross-piece (10) with profiled end sections that contact the pole pieces. A separate contact pad (16) is supported on the end of a thin spring arm (17) that continues to oscillate even if the main striker is prevented from moving.
