The service vehicle, partic. for airport operation, comprises a chassis with a cab at one end and behind this, on the chassis, a cabin or platform for passengers and/or goods mounted on a hoisting unit. The hoisting unit is esp. a scissors-jack, pneumatically- or mechanically-, esp. hydraulically-, operated. The hoisting unit base frame side-(1) and cross-(2-7) members or at least end cross-members (2,7)- are box girders and the wheels are independently mounted on the side members. Pairs of cross-members (2,3; 5,6) spacedapart, are located in the front- and/or rear-wheel regions.
