Coin path lock for e.g. vending machines - has latch operated by coin moving over chute from inserting slot to collector, which can move lock into coin slot
The device for parking meters prevents coin insertion into a defective meter. It can be applied to any other coin operated machine such as vending machine. It has a locking element closing the inserting slot. The element is so designed that it is moved from the inserting slot region when a coin is pressed into its slot. In the transport path of the coin from the slot to the collecter is mounted a latching device, actuatable by the coin itself. The latching device actuates the locking element into a position blocking the coin insertion slot. Pref. the latching device has a scanning lever which swivels about an axis against a spring force, whose free end protrudes into the coin transport path (chute). The device may be fitted with a delatching mechanism so engaged by the latching device that a coin insertion provides the latching and its removal delatching of the mechanism.
