The appts. for air-cooled i.c. engine cooling regulation, is based on varying the r.p.m. of a cooling fan driven from the engine via a temp. responsive coupling. This includes a correcting unit influenced by one or more electric elements on a temp. basis. This correcting unit is conventionally located near the blower impeller (20) hub (21) forward face (24). The electric elements are heat sensors (31,34,35,37,38) directly or indirectly -through a controller (28) with various programmes for interpreting values measured - controlling the power supplied to an electric heater (26) near the correcting unit.
