The pusher centrifuge has a cylindrical part of the drum connecting with a conical part enlarging towards the discharge side. The drum works together with an axially moving thrust plate. The effective axial length of the cylindrical part of the drum varies in the region of 0.09 to 0.2 of the effective ID of the cylindrical drum part. The axial length of the conical drum part varies in the region between 0.16 and 0.3 of the ID. The angle of the conical drum part against the horizontal is between 8 and 12 deg. On the discharge end of the centrifuge drum a receiving housing is fitted with an impact zone with protrusions fitted laterally to the longitudinal axis.
