Perforated strip claw drive - has sloping tooth on reciprocating drive with fixed tooth to stabilise strip

The perforated strip (1) is fed through a slot between fixed plates (2,3) and passes over a fixed tooth (8) with a sloping edge to permit movement only in one direction. The tooth extends out of the bottom plate by the thickness of the strip. A second tooth (6) on a reciprocating drive moves in the plane of the strip and indexes the strip by its interaction with the holes. The moving claw has a simple spring return, linear drive and its sloping tooth operates the strip drive in only one direction. The simple claw drive is suitable for films, stamp dispensing machines and other perforated feeds.
