Slat extrusion die, of the type having an elongated manifold leading to a slot die, includes a pair of end deckle arrangements to control the edge bead formation and width of the extruded film. Each arrangement includes a support rod located in the manifold from which depends an inner deckle plate located in the slot die. Below but spaced from the inner deckle plate is an inner deckle rod, the rod being supported from a block carrying the deckle plate. When the block is moved to adjust the position of its deckle plate the deckle rod is also moved and there can be no frictional contact between them as in the prior art.
