The mechanism is intended for varying the blade angle of an axial-flow or mixed-flow impeller by means of stationary cylinder actuators (25) arranged parallel to and outside the impeller shaft (1). The actuators move a housing (11) provided with rods (36) which axially extend through a flanged coupling bush (3) and are fixed (37) to a yoke (4) connected (5) with an axially slidable blade adjusting rod (2) in the hollow shaft (1). The bush (3) is integral with a protector sleeve (6) around the shaft and has its end (7) carried in a (radial 8.2-axial 8.1) bearing (8). The housing (11) is axially slidable on this sleeve.
