The electric immersion heater has an electronic control circuit maintaining the required temp. of the heating element and the water within the immersion tank. The respective temps. are monitored by two series thermoelements for a triac load switch. Pref. both thermoelements are housed in a common protective tube. This is in good thermal contact with the heating element adjacent the junction of one thermoelement, the junction of the other thermoelement dipping into the water in the tank, with the reference points of both thermoelements being within the fixing head for the immersion heater.
