Nose dressing having absorbent pad in tubular bandage - with bandage forming tapes to fasten dressing in position

A nose dressing comprises an absorbent pad enclosed in a tubular bandage which has a slit through which the pad is inserted. Beyond the region of the pad, the tube is folded flat to form tapes by which the dressing is fixed behind the ears, or at the back of the patient's head. The tubular bandage is a seamless woven, or pref. knitted, fabric, which is elastic in a longitudinal or transverse direction, or both. It may have a longitudinal slit in the region of the ears, by which the dressing is hooked over the ears, obviating the need for any knots. This is a simple construction which can be produced on automatic machinery. It requires only light bandage material and can be fabricated and fastened without any uncomfortable seams or knots.
