Data registers with josephson contacts - interferometer and josephson contacts being linked to enable setting, resetting and data shift

These shift registers which use interferometers with Josephson contacts include circuit elements which allow setting and resetting of individual storage cells and shifting of data. This is achieved by linking inductive interferometers in branches along the register and Josephson contacts across the register with other interferometers via one of more Josephson contacts. Current induced in a cell (6) by a write current (Jw) divides into currents (IAK,IBK) via Josephson contacts (2,4), with the greater part flowing to the inner circuit (2). This results in charges remaining in the cell. A shift current (Is) induced in the neighbouring cell (K) produces a data shift to this cell.
