Hydrolysed pollen, pref. mixed with 52-56% spirin in wt. ratio 1:5 to 1:7, is used as plant raw material for body-care and cosmetic compsns. Bio-elements can be released from a natural raw material. The hydrolysed pollen transmits, to prods., its pleasant blossom fragrance and live, clear colour, thus obviating the further addn. of perfumes and dyestuffs. Pref. the hydrolysed pollen and spirit mixt. is stirred 6-8 hrs., to recover colour, aroma, resins, etc. The lignin surrounding the pollen grains is softened by slowly stirring, from time to time, for another 8-12 hrs. The pollen grains are emptied by strongly stirring for 4-6 hrs., thereby recovering aminoacids, vitamins, enzymes, phytohormones, oligoelements, etc. The whole process takes place at 33-35 deg.C. The pollen extract is recovered by distilling off the spirit under mild conditions, at up to 40 deg.C.
