The peripheral sealing unit round the casement or sash has an opening edge providing sealing action against the outside of the case frame, in a window. The opening edge (10) has rounded corners on the outside of the case frame (1). The outside sealing (6) on the casement or sash (2) is guided in a corresponding arc in the area of the corners. These rounded corners can be in the form of corner pieces set onto the outside of the case frame, backfilled up to the thickness of the shaped section concerned; or they can be monolithic with the mitre-cut sections.
