The invention relates to oil-soluble 1-aza-3,7-dioxabicyclo[3.3.0]oct-5-ylmethyl alcohols which are alkyl-substituted in the 2-position and/or in the 8-position and which are the reaction products of an aldehyde and tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane and can be used as mineral oil additives. In automatic transmission fluids they are active as corrosion inhibitors for copper alloys.
