Protective cap and protective nipple for oil field pipes

Known protective caps and protective nipples for ends of pipes, specifically oil field pipes having threads and sealing surfaces, can only be used in different cases at considerable risk due to the material used and/or their construction. An optimised type of protective caps and protective nipples for the ends of oil field pipes is proposed, which consists of steel with an integrated thread, and whose parts in contact with the threads and the sealing surfaces are provided with a thin, plastic, shock-absorbing covering.
