The invention relates to a drum-type abrasive-blasting machine for abrasive-blasting workpieces. The latter are introduced into one end-side opening of the drum, are transported through the interior of the drum, being tipped up and over and blasted with abrasive in the process, and are withdrawn out of the other end-side opening of the drum. The drum is enclosed by annular carriers which are located on driven carrier rollers of blind-type slats which are articulated, by one longitudinal edge and such that they can pivot inwards, on the annular carriers of the drum casing. The slats rest, with the free, other longitudinal edge, on the articulated longitudinal edge of the neighbouring slat. The abrasive-blasting apparatuses are arranged above an opening which is formed, between neighbouring slats which pivot downwards when the drum rotates, in the upper portion of the rotational path of the drum casing.
