Air flap with two weights for preventing an afterflow of fresh air through the fire space into the chimney, with the burner cut out, for installation in the exhaust-gas or air-intake conduit of oil-fired and gas-fired fireplaces
Air flap with two weights for preventing an afterflow of fresh air through the fire space into the chimney, with the burner cut out, for installation in the exhaust-gas or air-intake conduit of oil-fired and gas-fired fireplaces
In oil-heating systems in particular, when the burner is stopped fresh air flows, as a result of the chimney draught, through the fire space of a heating boiler and thereby cools the latter. In order to improve the efficiency of the heating system, it is proposed, by means of the air flap according to the invention, to shut off the exhaust-gas conduit or air-intake conduit when the burner is stopped. The air flap is articulated on a horizontal axle and is installed in such a way that it is opened by the generated burner pressure or intake pressure and is closed by a counterweight when the burner is stopped. The counterweight consists of two weights (7, 7a) adjustable relative to one another. These two weights make possible an improved adaptation and adjustment to different heating systems having different burner capacities and chimney draughts. For this purpose, the weight (7a) is set vertically, with the flap closed, so that the flap can be adjusted solely as a result of the effect of the weight (7) in such a way that it closes sealingly against the chimney draught.
