Process and apparatus for the continuous massive reduction of steel and non-ferrous metal sections in a combined melting and casting line

The process is suitable, in particular, for the economical rolling of sections in relatively small lot sizes. This is achieved by virtue of the fact that the forming of the cast section takes place in a rolling apparatus which, by virtue of special calibration of the shape rolls, brings about a reduction of at least 1:10 in the cast strand in just four passes.
