The flow regulator for the refrigerant compensates for heat losses and the maximum start-up flow, variations in temperature outside the circuit, and impurities which tend to reduce the flow, etc. It uses a heat sensitive liquid contained in a bellows type container (20) and actuating a valve arrangement (2) which controls the flow of refrigerant through the heat exchange coil (1) via an upper chamber inside the cylindrical coil housing and a lower chamber (17). When the refrigerant is nitrogen, the heat sensitive liquid is hydrogen, helium, neon, or a mixture of these liquids. This liquid expands with increase in temperature, remaining as a gas at the boiling point of the refrigerant.
