The holding assembly, for a roadside guide post incorporates a shoe with resiliently elastic clamps protruding at the bottom for form-locking connection to the base-plate. The shoe is made of resiliently elastic mat. and forms a sheath which encloses the post, with its bottom edge on the base-plate. There are tongues on two opposite sides bounded by slits opening into the bottom edge of the sheath, which combine together to form a clamp unit which grips the base-plate in a form-locking embrace, with its bottom ends diverging outwards. The edges of the base-plate, working in conjunction with the tongues, may be bent downwards.
