Difficulty in flammable plastic or plastocelastic compsns. based on olefin polymers consist of (a) 7-97% of an amorphous poly-alpha-olefin or poly-alpha-olefin mixture having a reduced specific viscosity of 0.05-4.0 dl/g, these polyolefins being opt. replaced up to 2/3 by wt. by an elastomer; (b) 2-60% o an oily hydrocarbon opt. contg. a drying oil, which can be an oily polybutene or a distillation residue obtd. from cyclododecathiene prodn. opt. in admixture; (c) 1-15% of a brominated aromatic cpd; (d) up to 70% of a filler, and (e) opt. up to 5% of a surfactant. The compsns. are used in the construction, mechanical construction and automobile industries where difficulty flammable or self-extinguishing and thermal condition-resistant props. are required. The compsns. are easily and rapidly worked at high temps., i.e. 220 degrees C. They have excellent adhesion and deformation props.
