Flow control system for fire fighting hose - has digital signal transmitter at jet pipe end and receiver at fire engine controlling pump

The system provides a remote control of water throughput on firemen's hoses operated by digital signal from firemen using the jet pipe. The control system (10) fitted on the fire engine (12) is linked up with motor (14) and pump (16). The system comprises a digital coding and transmitting instrument (18) fitted on the jet pipe end (20) of the installation. Signals transmitted by this instrument are received on receiver (22) mounted on the fire engine (12). The receiver is connected electrically with a throughput regulator and the pump (16) is mechanically connected with the throughput regulator (24). The installation is fitted with a control device (26) is connected with the motor mechanically. An operating panel (27) links receiver (22) fire engine (12) mechanically and electrically. The installation is also fitted with device (28) between motor (14) and throughput regulator to suppress cavitation on the pump.
