Polyamide resin micro:powder prodn. - by dissolving waste polyamide resin in aq. isopropyl alcohol at elevated pressure, cooling, agitating and filtering off deposited powder

wt.% polyamide resin is dissolved in isopropyl alcohol contg. 20-50 wt. % of water at 150-155 degrees C. under increased pressure. The resultant soln. is cooled and at 100-80 degrees C. the soln. is vigorously agitated to deposit the polyamide resin micropowder. The micropowder is filtered off. Pref. the polyamide resin is obtd. from mouldings chiefly consisting of nylon-6 and nylon-66. Waste fibres, are pref. The method is simple, and cheap. The micropowder produced has a uniform particle size of 2-10 mu. The yield is 90%. The micropowder is used as surface treating agent for vinyl chloride resin leather, china material, base material of cosmetics, etc.
