Speaking watch for use by the blind - has quartz oscillator feeding frequency divider controlling read=out of memory storing words

Solid state watch having a verbal read out, or speaking watch. The watch is intended esp. for people with sight defects and may be worn simply as a watch or as a pendant. The watch circuitry is based on A 32.768 kHz quartz oscillator followed by division down to 1Hz. A synchronised logic circuit leads to a word selector on a passive memory matrix which is selectively read on the command of a push-button. All the watch elements are available commercially and are driven from a nickle-cadmium cell or a solar cell. The watch dimensions are not greater than 38mm diameter and 6.5mm in thickness.
