Distance judgement device for vehicle driver - has windscreen mounted scale for estimating distance of markings on other vehicles

A method of determining distances between vehicles in moving traffic by the drivers uses a marked scale of preset dimensions carried by each vehicle which when viewed through a windshield bearing appropriate scale markings, provides accurate assessment of vehicular distance to the driver. The device may be used at night by painting the scales with luminescent paint. In this case a specially screened lamp projects light rays at acute angles across the windshield attachment to illuminate the scale bars from which the distance information is read by the driver.
