Horizon projector of aircraft simulator pref. using plane image has optical elements, sweeping device, rotation elements and control elements. An axial picture of part of the earth's surface is formed. The optical elements comprise wide-angle optics for projecting the image onto a concave spherical surface. The sweeping device displaces the projection of the image which is rotated about its centre. The pilot is positioned within the concave spherical surface. The optical elements are provided between a picture and the wide-angle optics. The image forms an axial picture. An intermediate image is formed in the focal plane of the wide-angle optics.
