Centrifugal pump with plastics casing - has ring clamp locating tongues and grooves to fix casing half shells together

The small centrifugal pump suitable for domestic or agricultural use has an inpeller(5) driven by an electric motor(4) and enclosed in a plastics housing. The housing consists of two moulded plastics shells (2, 3) fixed together by a ring clamp(12). The ring clamp has a number of equally spaced inwardly projecting tongues(12b) with the space between tongues being slightly greater than the width of a tongue. The two half shells have similar tongues and spaces. The tongues of the clamp are passed through the spaces on the shells and the clamp is then rotated to lock the shells together.
