The cutter is for a rotary-blade lawnmower and has an impeller for the cut grass in rake form (1) rotating with the blade (2). The impeller can be formed by transporter members (3) inclined to the plane of rotation, typically a set of teeth extending upwards and outwards. Alternatively, small rakes can be fixed to the cutter bar, behind the blades, or there can be bars with rakes at the ends, above the cutter bar. The transporter members can form a unit with the cutter bar or be separate, their speed in the latter case being the same as, or different from, that of the cutter bar.
