Compression seal for roof cutter joint - locates bead between overlapped ends using screw hack fitting to apply radial stress

The gutter may have a half round channel section in metal or plastics which collects rain water from a pitched roof. It uses watertight transverse joints which incorporate a compression seal (4). A pre-formed bead is placed between overlapping ends (1a, 1b) being then subjected to a radial compression applied by a channelled fitting (5). The outer gutter edges may have rolls (1a, 1b) which slide axially one into the other, the internal edge being bent into a local inverted 'V' shape (2c). The fitting (5) may house the inner gutter edges (2c, 18) and locate a screw jack.
