Sling for supporting fractured jaw - has head strap applying force to left and right molar teeth and chin strap applying force to hold jaw

The sling is used for supporting a fractured jaw and comprises an adjustable double strap (13) passing over the head. The end of the strap on each side is attached to a composite strap which supports the chin. This latter strap has a main wire frame (8) holding a lined pad (18, 19) moulded to the shape of the point of the chin. The wire frame supports another similar frame (14), the wire ends (4, 5) being looped around the left and right molar teeth (16, 17). The main frame is tensioned (11, 12) by an adjustable strap (9, 10) round the neck.
