Domestic gas water heater - has combustion air turbine driven by hydraulic motor using heater water supply

The water heater has an extraction turbine which creates a vacuum in the system to allow the combustion air to be aspired into the heater. The turbine is driven by a hydraulic motor fitted in the feed water system. The motor is mounted in a plastics case with cast bronze wheels. The turbine draws combustion air from the outside of the heater. The turbine blades are flat and housed in a volute with an axial inlet and a tangential discharge for the gases.
