Solar energy traps comprising flat metal panels with peripheral pipe - self priming for use in series on common fluid circulation pipe

Solar energy traps are associated with a prim. fluid circulation pipe by providing branch loops which return to the main pipe via a coaxial inlet, so that some flow is induced through the branch without requiring an ancillary pump. The pipe loop follows the edge of a heat-absorbant panel via a thermally conductive joint. Pref. one or more such loops and their panels are enclosed in a cover (I) transparent to infra-red heat, to enhance heat capture by the greenhouse effect. Typically (I) is of polyvinyl fluoride film. Suitable for generating warm water for swimming pools, fish farms, horticulture etc. using relatively simple plumbing components. One form of panel may be made from pressed metal sheet, to integrate two flat sheets with a peripheral channel for the branch loop circuit.
