Conductor is passed through a glass wall, esp. for the electrode connections of Kerr cells, by centering the conductor at the bottom end of the bore in the glass wall by a disc of PTFE. A layer of cyanoacrlyate talcum cement is applied above it, followed by a layer of a granular filler, impregnated with a cyanoacrlyate adhesive. The top, outermost layer is filled and closed up by the cyanoacrylate talcum cement. Joint requires no glass fusion techniques and creates mechanically robust lead-in which is exact and vacuum-tight.
