The competition bicycle has two wheels of 580mm diameter. This has a suitable frame and all the equipment of a traditional bicycle. The weight is reduced due to the use of less material. The machine has better aerodynamics due to the shorter wheelbase. The reduced size also enables cyclists of small stature to adopt a riding position normally only achieved on normal bicycles by riders of large stature. The distance between the pedal shaft and the front and rear axles are both reduced, resulting in overall shortening.
