The artificial insemination device suitable for poultry is designed so that it may be used by one person only, who holds the device in contact with the bird. The device has a pistol grip with an injection tube projecting from it, and a piston at the other end, which ejects the contents. This is attached to a handle which is connected to a sliding device with an anchorage at one end for support by e.g. a tripod. At the other end is a pressure pad against which pressure is applied by the back of one hand while the bird is being held. This pressure moves a slider inside the device, so that the handle is moved backwards. This moves a further sliding rod system at the top of the handle and parallel to the injection tube, which operates its piston.
